Welcome to the Daily Lampstand.  This is an online journal of my daily scripture reading.  I typically read one chapter from the bible a day, then select a verse or verses that I feel the Lord used to speak to me, and then journal about it.  This project began as a private journal, but I want to share it with you, as Jesus said in Matthew 5:15: “No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house.”  God has been gracious to me in that he speaks to me through his word daily.  I simply cannot keep that to myself.

Just a couple more things about this blog:

My objective is to read the bible in as many translations as the Lord will allow before Jesus comes or calls.  Therefore as we go through this journey together, while we are starting with the Holman Christian Standard Bible, once I have read through we will do it again with another translation.

And lastly, you should know that actually do my daily reading from the Bible App, by Life.Church.  All verses are copy and pasted directly from that app or my computer, and therefore you will find a link to them after the verse.  If you are interested in the app, I would encourage you to go to their website: http://www.bible.com, or find them in the app store of your particular mobile device.  And just a side note – I am in way affiliated with Life.Church, the Bible app, or any of its developers, etc., and while I am fan of the work they do, I do not receive any consideration from them.

I sincerely hope you enjoy this blog.  I would love to hear from you on any of the verses that I post as well as my own comments, so do feel free to drop me a comment.
